Island Health is committed to protecting your personal privacy. This privacy statement explains how we collect and use information on the IHealth website (ihealth.islandhealth.ca).

What information do we collect?
Like many other websites, our web server automatically collects a limited amount of information essential for the operation and security of our website. Every computer and device connected to the Internet is assigned an Internet Protocol (IP) address, which is used by all websites. IP addresses are usually assigned in country-based blocks and can often be used to identify the country, state, and city from which a computer is connecting to the Internet.
We do not use any of the information we collect to identify you. We use the information to help us design a useful website, to measure the website’s effectiveness, and to assist with server and website administration.
This website uses an analytics tool named Piwik to help understand how the website is used.
Piwik uses first-party “cookies,” which are text files placed on your computer to store non-personally identifiable information about how you use the website (such as the time of your visit or whether it is a repeat visit). The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is stored on a server set up by Island Health within Canada, where it is compiled into statistical reports on website activity that Island Health uses to evaluate the website.
Island Health uses IP addresses to provide and protect the security of the service, and to understand where in the world visitors come from. IP addresses are anonymized before they are stored. Piwik is also configured to respect the DoNotTrack preference. For more information, please visit the Piwik website.
When you voluntarily send us electronic mail or complete an electronic form that includes identifying information about you, we will keep a record of this information so that we can respond to you.
