Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and Midwife involvement is crucial to the success of the IHealth initiative to ensure quality outcomes. Island Health is fortunate to have the expertise and commitment of many physician partners on an island-wide basis.
The Physician Accountability Group (PAG) is the body that governs Physician-based decisions in relation to the IHealth initiative as outlined in the IHealth Governance Structure. PAG membership is comprised of medical leaders from Island Health and strategic leadership partners. The Physician Accountability Group is chaired by Dr. Mary-Lyn Fyfe, the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and reports to the Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC).
IHealth Physician Leads provide physician leadership within focused cross-continuum streams of the IHealth initiative. The Physician Leads also report to Dr. Mary-Lyn Fyfe.
Physician champions have been identified by Department/Division Heads who provide regional representation to support specific project streams (i.e. Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)/Clinical Decision Support (CDS), Change Management, and Clinical Documentation) as part of the IHealth initiative.
The IHealth Physician Site/Geographic Site Leads work with local physician champions to support the change initiative.
