CPOE Go-Live at Cowichan District Hospital (CDH)

Accessing support after Go-Live

We have been working with CPOE and CCM at CDH for just under one month now. Calls for support have dropped in number. This is a sign that many of our staff and clinical team members are adapting to the new CPOE and CCM functions and workflows.

As planned, we are now in the phase of stabilization and sustainment.

How to access 24/7 support:

Support has transitioned to the Clinical Service Desk. Please use the following:

  • Call the Clinical Service Desk at 18777 option 3 (or 250-370-8777 option 3).
  • Click the “Band-Aid” support widget at the top of your device screen to access CPOE resources. Note: Band-Aid cannot be used to dispatch in-person support after 3 a.m. on Saturday, May 31.

Clinical-only skill sharpener support

  • For a skill sharpener session, please arrange with your Clinical Educator/Leader.

Medical staff support

For immediate support, 24/7:

  • Call Clinical Service Desk at 18777 option 3 (or 250-370-8777 option 3). If your concern is about CPOE, likely you will need to speak with the informaticist on call and you can ask for that individual to be contacted.
  • To find CPOE and enhanced EHR Resources, click the “Band-Aid” support. widget at the top of your device screen.

Elbow to elbow or remote EHR assistance, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • Call the switchboard and ask for ProEX (Provider Education and Experience team).
  • Onsite post-activation stabilization assistance:
  • ProEX and Physician Informatics will be rounding and available in both Surgical and Family Practice physician lounges:
  • June 2-13, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – ProEX/Physician Informatics.
  • June 16-27, Tuesday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – ProEX.
