Steps for Accessing Your IHealth Learning Journey
1. Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Call the Service Desk, available 24/7, at 250-370-8777 or 1-877-563-3152. Choose Option 2
Having MFA activated will enable you to complete your education from anywhere.
2. Open Browser to Island Health Gateway
Open a browser to site gateway.islandhealth.ca, enter your username and password to login, and approve login on MFA.
When logged in successfully, click “Use light version” to open a Citrix Workspace without downloading the app.
3. Access the Island Health EHR Education App
Steps to access Island Health EHR Education:
- If using a personal computing device, ensure your default web browser is Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
- Island Health EHR Education is accessible through the Citrix Workspace, where you also access PowerChart and/or FirstNet.
To add this icon to your favourites window in Citrix Program Neighbourhood:
- Click the magnifying glass in the top-right corner within Citrix Workspace,
- Type in Island Health EHR Education
- Click the star in the upper left corner of the icon
- App icon will now display on Citrix Workspace home page
- Click on Island Health EHR Education icon
- Enter your Island Health email address
- Enter your Island Health password
- To Access Education Content:
- Open the Patient Allocator app and click “Start New Session”
- Choose your Site, Journey and Unit from the drop-down list, and click “Begin Session”
- You’ll be given information about today’s training session, including
- Target training app name
- Username
- Password
- Patient ID
- These identifiers are valid for the day issued.
4. Complete the prerequisite online education (eLearning Modules)
Your prerequisite education must be complete before you attend the Facilitated Workflow Reviews.
NOTE: These modules were developed as standard Oracle Cerner content, providing staff the opportunity to experience at a high level the workflows and processes in the Cerner PowerChart Electronic Health Record. Your specific workflows and processes may vary slightly from the demonstration eLearning Modules.

The My IHealth Journey graphic gives you an overview of the Learning Journey phases, which include:
- eLearning Modules
- Self-directed online learning
- Facilitated workflow reviews and/or Skill Sharpeners
- Ongoing practice
Emails are being sent out to all nursing/clinical/allied health staff, notifying you when you can begin your training. (Start times will vary across the site.) Please reach out to your manager or educator for more information.
