Dear Colleagues,

As outlined previously, Island Health President and CEO, Dr. Brendan Carr, has asked that we provide you with regular updates on activities and actions related to IHealth.

1. Revalidation Events

As many of you know on Monday, February 20, 2017 the first Revalidation Event was held to review Medication Orders Management from an end-to-end perspective, starting with taking a Best Possible Medication History and ending with Discharge Medication Reconciliation and e-Prescriptions. Thank you to our NRGH physicians, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals who dedicated their time and brought great energy and commitment to the process! Specialty team based Revalidation Events continue this week on Thursday and Friday. We look forward to sharing with you the learning and actions that arise from the first week of Revalidation.

2. Physician Engagement

Dr. Brendan Carr and Dr. Jeremy Etherington were on site at NRGH on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 for further discussions, primarily with physician groups. Drs. Etherington and Digney met with the Division of Family Practice. A number of senior physician leaders met with members of the Nanaimo Medical Staff Association Executive to advance discussions on items such as the EHR Quality Council and establishing a regular meeting schedule.
